In South Africa, workers are required to contribute to the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF). This money can be accessed if they are unable to work for several different circumstances.
The UIF compliance certificate is issued to employers who have employees. The certificate serves as confirmation that the employer was complying with all the UIF requirements at the date of issuing the certificate.
Employers can apply for both the UIF Compliance Certificate and a Tender Letter online.
This process can be done online at the Electronic Compliance Certificate System website. The service is free and can be used by employers, agents and tax practitioners.
