Logging In

To log into Learn@UKZN, you need to use your LAN username and password. Here's what you need to do:

  • Enter your LAN username in the designated username field. Your LAN username is provided by UKZN and is specific to your student account.
  • In the password field, enter your LAN password. If you are a new student, your default password is based on your birthdate.
  • For example, if your birthdate is 3 January 1990, your default password would be "stu03011990." Remember, this default password expires after the first use, so it's essential to change it immediately.
  • Click on the "Log in" or "Sign in" button to proceed.

Changing Your Default Password

It is crucial to change your default password to ensure the security of your account and comply with university guidelines. Follow these steps to change your default password:

  • Visit https://password.ukzn.ac.za/ using your web browser.
  • Log in using your default LAN password.
  • Set a new LAN password of your choice. Make sure it meets the password requirements specified by UKZN.

Your new LAN password will remain valid for 90 days. You can change it at any time using the same website.

Expired Default Password

If your default password has expired because it was used before being changed, you will need assistance from the Student Helpdesk to set a new password. Contact the Student Helpdesk for support and guidance in resetting your password.

Remember, your LAN account is not only essential for accessing Learn@UKZN but also grants you access to various campus resources. Ensure you keep your LAN password secure and update it regularly to protect your information.
