The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) provides crucial short term financial assistance to employees should they find themselves unable to work. 
The UIF provides benefits for lost income for maternity leave, illness, adoption benefits, death and unemployment. 
However, employers are responsible for registering their company/business and their employees.
To register for UIF, Employers must 

Collect all the Identification Number’s and home addresses of all employees 
Get the UI-8  for commercial employers or the UI-8D and UI-19 forms for private and domestic employers. 
Employers must fill out these forms on behalf of their employees. 
Send these forms to the Department of Labour

Each month workers or employees must pay 1% of their salary to the UIF while the employer also contributes 1%. 
Employees can register on the Ufiling website. You will need the following documentation to register

Cell phone number 

If you are registered as an employee on Ufiling, you can submit application claims for various benefits offered by the fund.
