The Chemical Industries Education & Training Authority (CHIETA) is calling all skilled youth to apply for the chance to join the South African team at the 45th WorldSkills International Competition which will be hosted in Russia in 2019.
The Competition is expected to assemble more than 1,300 young professionals representing more than 70 countries who will compete in over 50 skills.
Approximately 1,000 experts will evaluate the work of competing individuals to ensure the highest quality of work is produced and properly assessed.
Who can apply?
Only youth 22 years or younger in 2019 will be able to participate in the event.
Individuals who are studying, working or training in any of the skills listed here will be eligible to apply.

Interested individuals have until 31 March 2018 to apply.
What if I’m chosen?
Selected applicants will be expected to compete in the regional, provincial and national skills competitions in preparation for the international phase. Only the best competitors from the trials will be selected to compete at the international level.
