Do you have outstanding student fees? The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is inviting beneficiaries to apply for historic debt cover.
“University students who are indebted for 2013, 2014 and 2015 to their institutions must contact their universities to find out if their debt has been settled.” - NSFAS.
This is the latest call issued by NSFAS to poor students who have been burdened with debt, that has accumulated over the last 3 years.
“With the additional R4.5 billion received from government this year, NSFAS is settling historic student debts so that students can continue with their studies.”
In the midst of mass student protests over the future of higher education funding NSFAS is helping to ease the financial burden caused by outstanding fees.
Government has also pledged to cover any financial shortfalls in 2017 for students that come from poor, working and middle class families.
