Sassa Calls On Clients To Use ATMs To Collect Money

With more than 18 million permanent grant recipients in South Africa, technical difficulties with grant payment systems could inconvenience millions of individuals and their family members who rely on the crucial government support mechanism.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has called on grant recipients to make use of alternative cash collection options. This as some clients may experience challenges when attempting to access their grants when they are distributed next week.

Sassa explained that clients can use their Sassa cards at ATMs or supermarkets including Boxer, Pick 'n Pay, U-save, Shoprite, Checkers and other outlets. This is because the Sassa card serves as a debit card.

“They [clients] can also access their money on any day during and after the payment without going to the pay points on the date specified. Your funds can be kept safely in your card and there is no need to draw all of it at once” said the Agency.

Here Are The Sassa Grant Payment Dates For July 2022

Older Persons Grant - Monday 4 July
Disability Grant - Tuesday 5 July
Children's Grants - Wednesday 6 July

The Agency added that officials will be assisting all clients who are affected by challenges related to grant collection.
