The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is responsible for the distribution of government financial support to members of the public.
In order to qualify for a SASSA grant you must either be a South African citizen, permanent resident or a refugee. However the grant you receive is based on your age and circumstances. SASSA distributes a number of different social relief grants.
