Unisa Semester 2 Registration For Short Learning Programmes Now Open

Unisa offers Short Learning Programmes that aim to enhance and update the skills of those who enrol. Unisa has opened up registrations for semester 2 Short Learning Programmes and students are encouraged to register as limited spots are available.

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is the largest open distance learning institution in Africa and they offer a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and short-learning programmes. Unisa has now opened up semester 2 registrations for Short Learning Programmes (SLP).

The SLPs are introductory, practical, and non-degree programmes meant to develop skills and knowledge in a chosen subject field in a quick and effective manner.

These programmes are located within the different academic departments of Unisa's colleges and are offered and administered by the Centre for Lifelong Learning.

How To Register For Short Learning Programmes

  1. Go to the Unisa website
  2. Click on 'Apply'
  3. Under Short Learning Programmes, click on 'Find out more'
  4. Scroll until you find 'How To Apply' and click on 'Apply online for all Short Learning Programme'
  5. Select the 'Short Learning Programmes' bubble
  6. Follow the prompts
  7. Upload supporting documents
    • Copy of your school qualifications (eg National Senior Certificate)
    • Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
    • Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID / passport (international students)
    • Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
    • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
    • Any additional documents as may be required for a specific Short Learning Programme

Applicants don't have to pay an application fee when registering. 

Students can check their registration status on the same website where in which they would need to fill in their student number and their personal information for verification purposes.

Unisa registrations for Short learning programmes will close on 14 July 2023. If students fail to register, they would then need to re-apply in the next application period for the academic year.
