A Sector Skills Plan (SSP) is developed by each Seta to identify the skills priorities within the sector.
It provides an overview of the skills gaps in the industry and outlines the interventions aimed at addressing these skills shortages.
The Seta's are required to develop an annual SSP based on extensive research.
The SSP is a valuable source of information to numerous stakeholders operating within a specific sector.
It aims to:
- identify key drivers of change in the industry
- develop a list of scarce skills and occupations
- drive the Seta's priority projects
- guide grant allocations
- respond to socio economic needs
