It's important to note that your application for UIF unemployment benefits must be made within 12 months of the termination of your contract. You can also apply for unemployment benefits when your term of service has finished.
You cannot claim UIF unemployment benefits if you were not registered as a work seeker with the department of labour or if you did not make contributions to the fund. You will also not be able to claim UIF unemployment benefits if you resigned from your job.
