South Africa is in dire need of professionals who can fill skilled positions.
The Department of Higher Education and Training demonstrated the urgency of developing skilled labour by establishing the National Skills Development Strategy. A plan that aims to equip South Africans with the skills needed for economic growth, social development and sustainable employment.
Government has also made it clear that education and training are amongst its highest priorities and has repeatedly urged the private sector to participate in various initiatives to up skill the nation.
It is against this backdrop that the Southern African Institute of Learning (SAIL) was established as a training and development provider. Now with a 10-year track record in skills development SAIL offers a variety of courses and is accredited with 28 full qualifications.
The primary accreditation is with ETDPSETA, with extensions of scope to a further seven ETQAs.
Prospective clients can choose from a selection of over 360 short programmes, or request a customised short course or workshop to meet training requirements and specifications.
Training can be provided in-house, or through the training facility situated in central Midrand.
SAIL has been active in servicing local and national government and is expanding its offering to include skills development courses for the corporate sector as well.
Training programmes provided for government include, municipal finance, administration, ward committee governance, environmental practice and more.
In addition SAIL offers training in early childhood development, school management and leadership, project management, occupational health and safety management, AET and MS computer programmes, management programmes and soft skills development.
