The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has announced that the 2022 May/June Grade 12 examinations results will be released on 3 August 2022.
More than 290 000 candidates participated in the 2022 May/June Grade 12 examinations. These participants comprised of individuals participating in the National Senior Certificate (NSC) and Senior Certificate (SC) examinations.
The candidates who participated in the NSC exams wrote the NSC exams in 2021 and previous years but did not obtain the full requirements to obtain their matric qualification. SC candidates are adult candidates that are over 21 years and have completed a minimum of Grade 9 or an ABET level 4 qualification.
The Department says exams went smoothly with few interruptions recorded. The exam period began on 9 May 2022 with the final paper being written on 28 June 2022.
DBE Chief Director National Assessments and Examinations Rufus Poliah has thanked all roleplayers for their contribution to the successful 2022 May/June Grade 12 examinations.
He said, “In terms of the success of the exam thus far, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all our colleagues who work beyond the normal call of duty both at the provincial level as well as our colleagues at DBE”.
Poliah explain that officials worked hard to ensure that question papers are delivered to schools on time and that the scripts are collected on time. The post-examination administrative period is now underway which includes the marking of exam scripts and capturing of marks.
