The University of South African (Unisa) is the largest distance higher learning intuition on the African continent. UNISA offers a diverse range of courses in a variety of fields.
Their curriculum ranges from short courses aimed at people wanting to upskill themselves all the way up the PHD level qualifications.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) covers undergraduate courses for students attending public institutions of higher learning.
Students applying to study at UNISA in 2022 should meet the following requirements in order to be considered for NSFAS funding
1. Returning students who were funded in 2021 who are yet to complete their qualification - These students should also ensure that they are temporarily registered while they await NSFAS funding confirmation
2. Returning students who were funded in 2021 who were rejected for funding in 2022 but have appealed their rejection status - These students are advised to pay the minimum registration fee while they await their funding appeal decision from NSFAS
3. First time NSFAS applicants - These students should ensure they are temporarily registered during UNISA’s temporary registration period. If your application was rejected, you will be expected to find alternative funding.
If your NSFAS application was provisionally accepted, prospective students don't need to pay the minimum registration fee. This as your registration will be activated automatically based on NSFAS funding confirmation received by Unisa.
