Higher education software receives acquisition boost
02-JUN-09

Adapt IT Holding Ltd., a technology solutions and services company based in KwaZulu-Natal, has announced its acquisition of a majority stake in ITS Holding Ltd, a Pretoria-based provider of integrated software for higher and further education.

The acquisition will provide Adapt IT with a significantly diversified client portfolio, predominantly in the public sector, ensuring that the company’s diversification risk is adequately managed.

In addition, the acquisition will result in an improvement in ITS’s B-BBEE credentials, which will facilitate its sustainability, and position it for further growth in the South African market.

ITS’s software provides support for a full range of functional areas that are key to an institution of higher or further education - in one integrated system.

The Integrator product suite, which is just one ITS product suitable for small, medium and large institutions, provides a rich set of functionality to enable back-office and front office operations, as well as self-service functions for students and staff alike.

This includes the management of distance learning, student debtors, third party payments, scholarships and grants, co-operative education, alumni and funds allocated to research activities.

"The ITS team has built a robust and dynamic business through great leadership, strong management and great technical expertise," said Sbu Shabalala, Chief Executive Officer of Adapt IT Holdings.

"Our companies share similar values; we both always put our customers first and are committed to innovation to improve our user experience. Together, we are natural partners as the infusion of BBBEE credibility will enable ITS to continue to gain market share in a transformed South Africa."
