Individuals in South Africa facing financial hardship can now apply for the SRD grant for October 2024.
To qualify, applicants must be South African citizens, residents, or special permit holders and must not receive other government support like UIF benefits or NSFAS bursaries. Their bank accounts must have a balance below R624.
Sassa conducts thorough background checks to verify applicants' identities, citizenship, and income. Once approved, payments are made at the end of the month.

Payment Options
Approved SRD grant recipients can choose to receive their payments directly into their bank accounts or collect them at participating supermarkets, including Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, USave, Shoprite, OK, and Spar.
