Who Qualifies for the R370 Grant?

To be eligible for the R370 grant, you must ne between 18 and 59 years old and be unemployed. You must not be receiving any other government financial assistance,  including NSFAS bursaries, UIF benefits, or other Sassa grants

How to Check Your R370 Grant Application Status

If you have applied for the R370 grant, you can check your application status online through the Sassa SRD website. The status check will indicate whether your application was approved, rejected, or is still pending.

How to Appeal a Rejected R370 Grant Application

If your application is rejected and you believe you meet the eligibility criteria, you have the right to appeal Sassa's decision. Appeals are managed by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA). Follow these steps to file an appeal:

  1. Visit the ITSAA website.
  2. Enter your South African ID number.
  3. Enter the cell phone number used during the application process.
  4. Click "Send Pin" and wait for an SMS with a verification code.
  5. Once you receive the pin, enter it and click "Submit."
  6. Select the month for which you are appealing (e.g., July 2024).
  7. Choose the reason for your appeal from the provided options.
  8. Click "Submit" to complete the appeal process.

Note: You must submit a separate appeal for each month your application was rejected. ITSAA aims to finalise appeals within 60-90 days.

What to Do if Your R370 Grant Appeal is Still Rejected

If ITSAA rejects your appeal, their decision is final. However, if you are dissatisfied with the decision, you can request a judicial review. This must be done within 180 days of receiving the ITSAA decision.
