The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has officially announced the results of the May/June 2024 Matric Rewrite re-marks and re-checks.

Where to Collect Your Results

Candidates who submitted requests for re-marks or re-checks of their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination scripts can collect their results directly from the school or exam center where they sat for the exams.

If your results improved or your pass status changed following the re-mark/re-check, you will receive a new statement of results. In this case, you may be eligible for a refund.

If your results remained the same or decreased after the re-mark/re-check, unfortunately, a refund cannot be issued.

Understanding Re-Checks and Re-marks

  • Re-check: This process involves a review of your exam script to ensure that all questions have been marked correctly and the marks have been calculated accurately.
  • Re-mark: A re-mark entails a complete re-evaluation of your original answer script by a different marker. This is an option for candidates who believe their assigned marks do not accurately reflect their performance in the exam.

Not Satisfied? Consider Rewriting

If you're still unhappy with your results, you can consider rewriting the matric exams. The next available opportunity for applications will be the 2025 SC/NSC May/June examinations.

Registrations for the 2024 October/November matric exam period are now closed. Registrations for the 2025 SC/NSC May/June examinations 1 October and close on 7 February.
