Reinstating Your SRD Grant Application
If you require assistance again, follow these steps to reinstate your cancelled Sassa SRD grant application for May 2025:

Visit the official SRD website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za

Select the tab labelled “Reinstate my cancelled application”

Enter your ID number and mobile number, then click Send Pin

A One-Time Pin (OTP) will be sent via SMS

Enter the OTP and click Verify

Select the reason for reinstating your application:

Cancelled in error
-
No longer have income
-
Other

A message will appear asking, “Are you sure you want to reinstate the grant?”

Click Yes to confirm your reinstatement
Reinstating your application ensures you are considered for the May 2025 payment cycle, provided you still meet the eligibility requirements.
SRD Grant Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the SRD grant, you must:

Be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a special permit

Not receive any other government assistance, such as UIF benefits or a NSFAS bursary

Have a bank balance below R624
If you no longer meet these requirements, you also have the option to cancel your SRD grant application for May 2025.
