NSFAS provides comprehensive financial aid to eligible students registered in approved academic programmes at South Africa’s public universities and TVET colleges. This application period is specifically for TVET students who are currently studying or plan to begin their studies in Trimester 2 of 2025.
TVET college students are urged to submit their applications before the deadline.
“This application cycle does not include university students. They must wait for the separate application period to open later this year,” NSFAS confirmed.
NSFAS TVET Trimester 2 Application Dates
-
Opening date: 12 May 2025
-
Closing date: 23 May 2025
Why NSFAS Has Multiple Application Periods for TVET Colleges
NSFAS allows multiple application windows for TVET students due to the flexible start dates of college programmes. These windows are aligned with the academic calendars of TVET colleges to ensure students can access funding at the beginning of each term.
More details on the application periods are available online.
