Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College students have less than 24 hours to apply for National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funding for Trimester 3.

NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to eligible students enrolled in approved programs at universities and TVET colleges. These bursaries cover tuition and registration fees, along with allowances for food, accommodation, and study materials.

The NSFAS has confirmed that the Trimester 3 application period will close on 20 September 2024.

Don’t miss out on this vital opportunity—apply now before the deadline!

NSFAS explained that its Trimester application periods are designed to align with TVET college academic calendars, allowing students to apply for funding as they start their studies. Applicants are encouraged to apply for funding during the specific academic cycle they plan to enroll in.

Due to differences in academic schedules between TVET colleges and universities, NSFAS offers separate application windows for TVET students who are not enrolled in year-long programs.

How to Apply for NSFAS

This application period is exclusively for TVET college students. Applications can be submitted through several channels, including your TVET college’s bursary office, the NSFAS online portal, or a nearby NSFAS centre.

If applying online, follow these steps through the NSFAS student portal, known as myNSFAS:

  1. Visit the NSFAS website and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
  2. Create a myNSFAS account.
  3. Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the application form.
  4. Upload the required supporting documents.
  5. Click ‘Submit’ once you’ve completed the form.
