To be eligible for the SRD grant, applicants must be unemployed, between 18 and 59 years old, and must not receive UIF benefits, NSFAS bursaries, or other Sassa grants.
SRD Grant Value for April 2025
Following a R20 increase in April 2024, the SRD grant value has remained at R370.
Beneficiaries will continue to receive R370 for April 2025.
Payments are typically made during the final week of the month, excluding weekends and public holidays, once all verification checks are completed.
How To Check Your Sassa SRD Grant Status
To confirm your payment date, visit the SRD status check page on the official Sassa website. Enter your ID number and the cellphone number used during your application. You’ll receive a one-time PIN (OTP) for verification. Once verified, your grant status and payment date will be displayed.
SRD Grant Collection Methods
You can collect your SRD grant through:

Direct Bank Deposit: Have the payment sent to your bank account. This is usually the fastest method, although it may take 2–3 business days to reflect.

Retail Collection: Withdraw cash at participating supermarkets including Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, USave, OKAY, and Spar.
