The first month of the new year is only days away and for grant beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), specifically for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, it's important to know your Sassa SRD grant payment schedule.

Sassa has now confirmed when SRD grant payments for January 2024 will be paid out to beneficiaries expecting their Sassa money. Only individuals who were approved for grant payments will be paid in January.  

SRD Grant Payment Dates For January 2024

SRD grant payments for January will be made between 25 January 2024 and 31 January 2024 to beneficiaries. Sassa has said, "Funds will take about 2 - 3 working days to reflect in the client’s account after payment has been processed".

SRD grant payments are made during the final week of the month after Sassa completed various verification checks. These verification checks seek to ensure only deserving individuals receive SRD grant payments. 

Where To Collect Your SRD Grant Payment

As a SRD Grant beneficiary, you can choose to have your grant paid directly into your bank account. This allows you to access the money as soon as it is available. 

In case you do not have a personal bank account, you can also collect your R350 grant payment at a retailer such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.

You can use your ID number and phone number to access your grant payment. You must have a cellphone with a registered cellphone number and proof of identification to use this grant collection method.
