In July, the University of South Africa (Unisa) opened its registration for Semester 2 qualifications. Prospective students can register for semester modules in undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
Prospective students can register for undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees, postgraduate diplomas, as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Leadership (MBL) qualifications in semester 2.
The registration period commenced on Monday, 3 July 2023. Students have a few weeks left to register for their preferred qualification as the registration period will soon close at Unisa.
Here’s When Unisa Semester 2 Registration Closes
Unisa Semester 2 registrations will close on different dates depending on the qualification.
Registration for Undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas will conclude on 28 July 2023. Semester 2 registration for MBA and MBL qualifications will also conclude on 28 July 2023.
Semester 2 registrations for Short Learning Programmes closed on 14 July 2023.
Who Can Register At Unisa During This Period
New applicants who submitted a Unisa application and Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification can register. However, they can only register after receiving a placement offer from Unisa that they accepted online.
Here’s How To Register At Unisa
Step 1: Visit the Unisa web registration page
Step 2: Select your desired qualification level and click "Go".
Step 3: Fill in all the required information, including your student number in the designated block. If you don't have a student number, you'll need to apply online for admission before proceeding.
Step 4: Verify and update your personal details displayed on the screen. Ensuring this information is correct is critical Unisa will communicate with you via the cellphone number/ email address you provided. They will also deliver study materials to the address provided.
Step 5: Select the modules you want to register for from the drop-down list. Ensure you meet all qualification requirements for the selected modules.
Step 6: Enter the correct module codes and select the appropriate semester (2 for the second semester).
Step 7: Do not exceed the prescribed number of modules per semester or year, as this may result in processing delays.
Step 8: Calculate your Unisa fee quotation using the fee calculation toll on the Unisa website.
Students can remove modules until the cost aligns with what they can afford.
Step 9: Pay the Unisa Minimum Fees.
Step 10: Submit your registration.

Individuals can get their Unisa Fees quotation by filling out a short form detailing their year of study, qualification level, qualification code and study unit codes.
