The University of South Africa, which we know as Unisa, opened their Unisa semester 2 applications a while ago and now the end of the application period nears. Have you applied yet?

Today is the last day to apply for Semester 2 at the the University of South Africa (Unisa) so if you haven't applied, apply as soon as possible. Unisa semester 2 applications opened on 15 April.

Semester 2 applications for the 2024 academic year will be open for limited undergraduate qualifications from 15 April to 10 May 2024. 

Unisa semester 2 applications are open for:

  • First-time applicants: New to Unisa and eager to begin your academic journey.
  • New students: Already a Unisa student but starting a new undergraduate programme.
  • Changing majors/specializations: Looking to explore a different path within your undergraduate studies.

Unisa offers a diverse selection of undergraduate programs at various levels of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). You can even apply to two programs simultaneously, including a lower-level option alongside your main choice. This provides a strong foundation for success.

How To Submit Unisa Semester 2 Application

Here's a guide on how to apply to Unisa during this application period for Semester 2 2024:

Step 1: Head to the 'Apply for admission' page

Once you're here, you will see options for which qualification you want to apply to. Choose the type of qualification you're applying for.

Step 2: Choose Your Qualification Path

  • Read the information then click on 'Start the process'
  • Read the information then click on 'Proceed to ODL and Unisa'

Step 3: Are You Sure About Your Career Choice?

  • Read the information and then scroll back to the top and click on the circle with the number 2 inside which says 'Are you certain about your career?'

Step 4: Find Your Qualification

  • Read the information about applications to Unisa and then scroll back to the top and click on the circle with a number 3 inside which says 'Choose or find your qualification?'.
    • (If you require more information on the courses offered and the different faculties, scroll down to where it says 'Explore qualifications by interest fields'. Once you know which faculty you want to go into and the qualification you want to pursue, go back to select, click on the circle with a number 3 inside which says 'Choose or find your qualification?' again.)
  • You can then select your qualification by college (faculty) or level.
  • Once here, you will find the different qualifications Unisa offers in that college/faculty. If you click on the different qualifications, you will find information such as admission requirements and if you click on 'Registration and curriculum information', you will find the modules that belong to that specific qualification.

Step 5: Apply for Admission

  • You then head back to the page where it shows the different qualifications offered with the step circles on top.
  • You have now found the qualification you want to apply for and should now click on the circle with the number 4  inside which says 'Apply for admission'

Step 6: Start Your Online Application

  • Read the information and then click on 'CLICK HERE to apply online'
  • In the first section, click on the bubble next to the qualification you're studying towards.
  • If you already have a student number, click yes. If not, click no.
  • Fill in your details and follow the prompts.

Step 7: Submitting Documents

  • Once you're done, you'll need to submit relevant documents.

While applications for Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas have closed for the 2024 academic year, a limited number of Master's and Doctoral programmes are still accepting applications.
