The month of June has come to an end so it's a good time to plan for July's Sassa grant payments. The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) disburses grants to over 18 million South Africans who receive permanent social assistance.
Sassa administers various permanent grants for financially vulnerable individuals in South Africa. These include the Older Persons pension grants, Disability grants, War Veterans grants, Care Dependency grants, Foster Child grants, Child Support grants, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
Sassa Grant Payment Schedule for July 2024
Sassa confirms that social grant payments typically begin on the second working day of each month. Public holidays and weekends are excluded. Here's the July 2024 schedule:
- Older Persons Grant: 2 July 2024
- Disability Grant: 3 July 2024
- Child Grant: 4 July 2024
Where to Collect Your July Sassa Grant
Sassa beneficiaries have two options for receiving their grants:
- Direct Deposit: Have the grant deposited directly into your bank account.
- Payment Points: Collect your grant at ATMs or retail stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer.
Sassa Grant Amounts for July
The following grant amounts apply for July:
- Older Persons Grant: R2,180 (R2,200 for those 75 years and older)
- Disability Grant: R2,180
- War Veterans Grant: R2,200
- Care Dependency Grant: R2,180
- Foster Child Grant: R1,180
- Child Support Grant: R530
- Child Support Grant (Top-up): R530 + R250
- SRD Grant: R370
Sassa advises beneficiaries not to rush to withdraw their grants immediately. The funds remain in your bank account once deposited.
