The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) provides financial support to millions of South Africans through various grants. They have provided a guide on where beneficiaries can collect their social grants in June 2024.
Sassa distributes several different permanent grants to people living in South Africa. These include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
When are Sassa Grants Paid?
Sassa typically distributes grants from the second working day of each month, excluding weekends and public holidays. For June 2024, grant payments will begin on Tuesday, 4 June.

- Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 4 June 2024

How to Collect Your Sassa Grant
You have two options for receiving your Sassa grant:
- Direct Bank Deposit: Have the grant deposited directly into your bank account for easy access.
- Cash Collection: Collect your grant in cash at ATMs, retail stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, or Boxer.
Sassa assures beneficiaries that there's no urgency to withdraw your grant immediately. The funds will remain safely in your bank account until you need them.
Remember, Sassa grants are due to increase again in October 2024, following an earlier increase in April 2024.
