    China doubles its scholarships for African students

    The Chinese government has doubled the number of scholarship it grants to Africa to 4 000 students per year, says Yu Wenzhe, China’s Ambassador to Ghana. The expanded package is China's contribution to help Africa to achieve its goals, Mr Wenzhe said at a reception he hosted for 34 Ghanaian students who have received Chinese government scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.

    Health bursaries offered for KZN youth

    The provincial Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal has offered bursaries to students from poor backgrounds, who want to take up their studies in the health field. The offer applies to students who have already completed their matric, currently in matric, or those enrolled in tertiary institutions studying towards health related qualifications.
