Magashule lauds Grey College
Thu, 14 Jan 2010 12:20
By Mosidi Mohlakela
Free State Premier Ace Magashule visited Grey College in Bloemfontein to inspire teachers and learners to maintain the 100 percent pass rate achieved by the school last year.
Government does not have to concentrate on and monitor poor performing schools but also give support to exemplary schools doing well and producing good results, said Magashule.
He added that it was schools such as Grey College that were doing well to groom the leaders of tomorrow.
This school is indeed one of the best in the province and we urge other schools to learn from them and to carry forward the importance of achieving best results.
Addressing the hundreds of learners, Magashule said their excellent performance had instilled a sense of pride in the province.
School Principal Johan Volsteedt said the achievement had come as a result of a positive attitude and a sense of pride and loyalty towards the school.
Magashule said there had been no reported cases of delayed stationery in the province and the expectation was that all learners should be at school and ready to learn on the first day.
We had been assured that everything was in place in the province on the first day of the reopening of the schools.
