President Jacob Zuma has urged young global leaders to excel in their studies and other academic activities.

During a meeting with 17-year-old Luvo Gila, one of 20 pupils who will represent the country at the Global Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC which begins on Sunday, Zuma congratulated the lad and his group for their achievement.

Luvo, a grade 12 pupil at Jeppe High School for Boys, will be among young people from all over the world, who will participate in the conference organised by the Congress for Global Young Leaders and young people from all over the world.

Delegates to the conference were chosen based on academic excellence and intellectual aptitude.

President Zuma met Luvo to promote academic excellence and achievement amongst the youth during Youth Month.

The conference, which takes place from 20 June to 3 July, will run under the theme: “Nations’ interdependence in world trade and economics”. - BuaNews
