Learners get high on space science
Fri, 08 Oct 2010 11:52
Learners at the Mogale High School in Bapong, North West were excited about the week-long lessons on space science and technology.
As part of the celebrations of World Space Week, which kicked off on 4 october this year, the Department of Science and Technology had an awareness drive to educate learners about the benefits they receive from space science and technology.
The awareness drive included a talk on space science and technology, and getting the learners to assemble a model of the SumbandilaSat SAs micro earth observation satellite.
The week encouraged public support for space programmes, got children excited about space, raised awareness of institutions around the world that were involved in space, and fosters international cooperation in space outreach and education.

World Space Week is celebrated every year. This years theme was Mysteries of the Cosmos. BuaNews
