How do you guarantee career success?

A university degree or qualification can become an expensive, lengthy affair and for those who cannot afford this option, alternative ways of ‘making money’ are being sought. In the video, ‘the highest paying jobs without a college degree’ the speaker discusses the possibilities and implications of becoming an entrepreneur.
Most of us have been taught that we can only attain gainful employment if we ‘go to college, get a degree and then get a good job’ but is this route still viable? According to New Economy Secrets.com this formula is no longer a guarantee for employment.
There is a lesser explored alternative which can result in high earnings, and does not require a qualification or degree, that is entrepreneurship.
Vision and courage are the pillars that successful entrepreneurship is built on. Richard Branson, world renowned entrepreneur, is an example of a businessman who was able to follow his dream and create wealth without a degree. He is proof that ‘success isn’t necessarily attached with going to college’.
“Business is based on problems and solutions’. An entrepreneur is, in effect someone who is able to offer a solution to a problem experienced by the community, country or even the world. Entrepreneurs 'follow trends' and conduct research to develop innovative solutions.
As an entrepreneur you should align yourself with people who can assist you in reaching your goal.'There are things that you will need to learn, that you cannot learn in college’. Make use of your contacts, especially 'people who are successful at doing what you want to do’. Find a mentor and learn from them.
A solid business system is essential to the running of a big or small business. The Macdonalds franchise illustrates the importance of effective processes and is an excellent model to follow when creating a business system.
Venturing into the world of entrepreneurship requires a strong belief in your vision. ‘On an entrepreneurs path you go in and you spend money, you spend time and you are not guaranteed to make money right away’. This can be a daunting prospect and many steer away from this path based on the perception that a traditional job ‘creates security’.
Entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted and while college degrees or work experience is not a prerequisite, aspiring businessmen and women need to have a ‘burning desire’ to see their vision unfold and the ability to ‘take action’ and make their dreams a reality. However for those who are successful the rewards are endless.
‘So can you get a high paying job without a degree? That is entirely up to you’
