    Fasset deadlines looming

    Thu, 26 May 2011 14:23

    Share

Fasset (the Seta for Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and Other Financial Services) would like to remind its stakeholders that the deadline for the Mandatory Grant (combined Mandatory Grant Annual Training Report (ATR) 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011 and the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 is rapidly approaching. Applications close on 30 June 2011.

By accessing the Mandatory Grant employers are able to claim back 40% of their Skills Development Levy paid to SARS.

As per the legislation, no extensions are allowed for the Mandatory Grant application unless the employer is newly registered in terms of the Skills Development Act or for reasons of force majeure, where natural or unforeseeable events prevent the employer from fulfilling his obligations.

All levy payers registered are required to submit their Mandatory Grant application in order to claim the grant and qualify for other Fasset grants. Submission of this documentation is a prerequisite for the Strategic Cash Grant (SCG) and the Learnership Cash Grant (LCG). Application forms and guidelines are available in the downloads section of the Fasset website: www.fasset.org.za

Non-levy payers, employers who fall under the R500,000 Skills Development Levy threshold are required to register with Fasset on an annual basis. Registrations for the 2011/2012 financial year close on 30 June.

NLP registration forms are also available in the downloads section of Fasset’s website. By registering with Fasset as non-levy payers, employers are able to access the LCG, Lifelong Learning, Development Project Beneficiaries and Skills Development Facilitator Training.
