    Siyakha Consulting educates industry

Siyakha has the necessary skills and expertise to assist in submitting a WSP to relevant SETAs, submitting and advising an employer on the implementation a WSP and researching and determining a training budget and funding opportunities for an organisation.

“Not many industry members are aware that once they submit a WSP to a relevant SETA they are able to claim back up to 50% of their levy,” says Siyakha Consulting’s chief executive officer Dionne Kerr.

Siyakha Consulting has successfully run and managed WSPs in partnership with various clients. “Planning plays a key role in the implementation of education, training and development initiatives. Hence the WSP, which allows an organisation to identify areas where skills are needed and plan interventions to answer the needs,” explains Kerr.

WSPs provide the SETAs with the information they need to compile a meaningful Sector Skills Plan, especially for scarce and critical skills. Once the organisation has submitted a duly completed WSP on time, a grant amounting to 50% of the levy will be paid to the organisation. This includes amounts due for both the annual training report and the WSP.

“This will ensure that organisations have funds that can be utilised for the implementation of training,” says Kerr. “We add value by accessing funding for our clients from respective SETAs, assisting companies to benefit from financial incentives, and aligning training objectives to optimize an organization's broad-based black economic empowerment rating.”
