Thousands of finance professionals will have further opportunities to keep their skills updated online following an agreement between ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), the global body for professional accountants, and Harvard Business Publishing.

The agreement will result in exclusive web-based learning opportunities for ACCA members, who will have access to Harvard ManageMentor.

This resource provides round the clock access to action-orientated information on 42 key management topics, developed under the guidance of world-renowned experts, practitioners and business leaders.

Each module has a mix of learning techniques – from audio downloads and video clips to self tests and worksheets – to ensure that the skills can be applied on the job immediately.

Clare Minchington, Executive Director – Learning and Customer Services at ACCA said: “We have worked closely with Harvard Business Publishing, which has developed a number of modules to meet the training needs of our members.

"We have selected the courses to provide our members with a cost effective way of learning in response to feedback we have received from members in the training needs surveys which we conduct regularly.

“Among the issues covered by the modules are business change and development, strategic business skills and skills related to small businesses. This will add significantly to the resources available to our members to enable them to meet their annual continuing professional development requirements,” said Minchington.

Members will be given free access to two Harvard modules: Budgeting and Financial Essentials to enable them to ensure they are comfortable with the learning techniques before purchasing any modules.

Members will have the added benefit of having 12 months’ access to a module from the date of purchase. Course details are available at ACCA.
