Free-fax-to-email service The FAX speaks for itself
Mon, 28 May 2007 23:00
Integr8 FAX, a member of the Integr8 Group housing Integr8 IT, South Africas largest privately BEE owned national Information Technology network integration and infrastructure management specialist, is helping to improve the efficiency of ICT infrastructure within the business, government and education sectors.
The company is gaining momentum within the specialised integrated network services space with FaxM8, an instant free-fax-to-email facility that enables faxes to be delivered directly to an e-mail. FaxM8 is freely available to anyone with an e-mail address and can be initiated by sending an SMS to the number 32542.
This focused initiative is the companys contribution towards efforts to address the need for reliable, low cost, low maintenance and sustainable communications infrastructure across a number of vertical and horizontal markets.
A user simply faxes a document to the fax-to-e-mail number, issued upon registration for the service, and this fax is sent through to the mail server at Integr8 IT. The server automatically converts the paper document into a Tiff file and this is then sent through as an e-mail to the intended recipient. It is a fast, secure and effective process, explains Walter Bredell, sales manager at Integr8 FAX.
The service is licensed through Telkom and this allows Integr8 FAX to offer a lower flat rate for sending faxes.
Management at Integr8 FAX has also developed a go-to-market strategy for FaxM8 based on the offer to clients to become service resellers or agents. As an agent, the client is eligible for rebate based further sales of this service.
Communications infrastructure is essential to the survival and sustainability of education institutions. However, running costs associated with the upkeep of this infrastructure is usually very high. This is why a solution like FaxM8 makes a difference".
"Faxes can be sent at a lower flat rate and are received directly and securely as e-mail. There is no need to acquire software or additional infrastructure, or extra resources such as paper and print cartridge, explains Robert Sussman, joint MD at Integr8 IT.
Additional benefits offered through the company and FaxM8 include free setup, installation, training and support. There is also no charge for incoming faxes.
Other benefits that make a solution like this viable include the fact that faxes received via e-mail can be accessed from anywhere in the world (again reinforcing the concept of a truly mobile office) as well as an increase in productivity because there is no risk of faxes going missing or landing up in the wrong hands, adds Sussman.
The advent of legislation governing electronic communication and the increase in multi-media applications is a growing trend. The concept of one device to multi-task and cover a number of communication disciplines over many platforms and applications is not far off.
