While many university students will now have their final year fees covered by a loan of bursary from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, other students will still be required to pay back their loans to the national funding body. Zuma introduces free year at university

President Zuma announced a step towards free university education in his annual ANC January statement in Polokwane. From this year students who qualify for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme and are in their final year at a public university will receive a loan equivalent to the full cost of study - which will not have to be paid back if the student graduates.Matric Results

Through the new deal the NMMU Business School will be epanding to KZN through a certification and accreditation agreement with Business Development Unit.

The Labour Minister has announced that major reforms to the country's labour laws will be published in draft form on Friday 17th December. The Minister characterised the changes to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and other labour laws as 'far reaching'.
