Around 584 894 people turned up for this years FIFA Confederations Cup tournament in South Africa, according to statistics released by the world football governing body on June 29.
The figure is down by just 2 percent as compared to Germany in 2005.
For this, FIFA President, Sepp Blatter gave South Africa a rating of 7.5 points, saying the country had a potential to score 10 points in next years world cup.
For now you are like students at college; you are not at university yet, but next year you may go up, joked Mr Blatter.
At total of 44 goals were scored during the tournament with Brazils Luis Fabiano emerging the highest goal scorer having netted five goals, while teammate Kaka scored the fastest goal of the tournament in five seconds.
South Africa topped the list for all the wrong reasons. The highest number of yellow cards went to Bafana Bafana, while the team also had the highest number of defeats alongside the USA.
Iraq was the best-behaved team getting only two yellow cards.
