The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) pays social grants to more than 18 million people every month. Sassa has now confirmed the grant payments dates for December.

Sassa Grant Payment Dates for December 2025
- Older Persons Grant: 2 December 2025
- Disability Grants: 3 December 2025
- Children's Grants: 4 December 2025
Funds will take about 2-3 working days to reflect in the client’s account after payment has been processed.
How Much Sassa Grant Payments Are for December 2025
- Older Persons grant: R2,320
- Older Persons (75 years and older): R2,340
- Disability grant: R2,320
- War Veterans grant: R2,340
- Care Dependency grant: R2,320
- Foster Care grant: R1,250
- Child Support grant: R560
- Child Support grant (Top-up): R560 + R280
- SRD Grant: R370
Beneficiaries can choose to have their Sassa grant automatically deposited into their bank account. This is the recommended option, as the money stays safe in the account until it's needed.
Alternatively, beneficiaries can collect their grants in cash from various locations, including ATMs, Pick n Pay stores, Checkers stores, Shoprite stores, and Boxer stores.
