Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana, revealed during the 2024 Budget Speech how much is being spent on education. These details included Basic Education, Higher Education and NSFAS.


Individuals who consume alcohol and tobacco products will be paying more for their goods in the coming months. This comes after the finance minister announced the sin tax increases for 2023.


In South Africa, approximately 46% of the population are beneficiaries of a social grant. This means that 27.8 million South Africans are social grant recipients.


South Africa has a limited window of opportunity to reset the economy and build a stronger base for sustained long-term growth – seizing it will require rebuilding business and investor confidence by moving swiftly to implementation of the economic reforms outlined in Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana's 2022 Budget speech.


The South African Finance Minister has announced increases in Excise Duties and the introduction of a new tax during his maiden budget speech. 


You can expect to pay more for alcohol and tobacco, as government has decided to increase the excise duties on these products.
