Over the years, South Africa’s largest distance-learning university has been severely criticised for its alleged lack of good governance. The university has been urged to make changes amidst the issues arising in its administration.  


A damning report from an independent assessor found a public university dysfunctional, recommending for it be placed under administration. The institution has admitted to serious government and operational problems but claims that it is far from collapse.

 


An inquiry report on the affairs at South Africa’s largest university,  has made a number of bodies, including one trade union, demand that the institutions council be dissolved, and the Vice Chancellor resign.


Several allegations were made against South Africa’s largest university and its management after an independent assessor was appointed to look into the university's affairs. The institution is set to issue an official response soon as consultations have concluded.
