The course is hands on with the learners being equipped with skills to prepare, conduct and evaluate a variety of learning activities through effective facilitation.
The learning activities include: case studies, videos, working with templates, small and large group discussions, peer learning and PowerPoint inputs.
Our course begins with the theory about planning facilitation events and facilitating processes for adults. On the third and fourth day each participant will have the opportunity to facilitate a workshop and be assessed by peers and the assessor. This assessment then forms part of the observation assessment as part of the Portfolio of Evidence.
The course is accredited against SAQA Unit Standard 117871 Facilitate learning using a variety of given methodologies NQF Level 5 Credits: 10. This unit standard is recognised by the SETAs as crucial if you are a facilitator of NQF registered learning.
It forms part of a learning pathway in Occupationally Directed Education and Training and Adult Basic Education. Many learners go on to complete the assessor and moderator course after doing this one.
