Purpose of the Unit Standard
This programme is for those persons who facilitate or intend to facilitate learning using a variety of given methodologies. Formal recognition will enhance their employability and also provide a means to identify competent learning facilitators.
NQF Level
This programme is at NQF Level 5.
Credits
Competent learners will be awarded 10 credits.
Duration
This workshop is presented over 5 days.
Learning Assumed to be in Place
The credit calculation for this course is based on the assumption that learners are already competent in the learning area in which they will provide training.

• Plan and prepare for facilitation;
• Facilitate learning; and
• Evaluate learning and facilitation
Workshop Description
Learner facilitators will participate in individual, paired, small group and large group activities during the workshop, sharing personal experiences, thus contributing to the overall value of the learning experiences of all participants. Learners will be provided with a portfolio template and be given guidance on how to document evidence and complete their portfolios. During the workshop, learners will be required to plan, prepare and present a learning event using a variety of methodologies as part of their summative assessment.
Assessment
Assessment of portfolios, certification and ETDP endorsement of competent learner Facilitators will be completed within 30 days of receipt of your portfolio. Learners who are required to submit further evidence will be given additional time to present such evidence.
Learners are provided with guidance and support throughout the entire process.
