People often let themselves down when verbally presenting their ideas to colleagues. Quite often they may be letting themselves and their company down when presenting ideas or products to clients.
This is due to lack of confidence, and an unintentional abuse of techniques of Presentation Skills.
Anybody can be helped to give effective presentations by learning and practicing certain basic rules. Where necessary, people can sell ideas or their products more effectively to clients.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The course has been designed to help employees at any level in the company to make a clear, logical and well-organized verbal presentation. This applies to speaking in committee meetings, to small groups or to a large audience.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Any employee who has to speak or give presentations at meetings or address audiences, and who thinks that he/she can benefit from training and practice in speaking.
COURSE CONTENT:
The course introduces a planned approach to giving presentations.
It covers the main areas of what to say and how to say it, including:
• Defining the aims and selecting the material
• Understand the starting point of your audience
• Calculate how to take your audience from point A to point B
• Note-making, and preparing for the "impromptu" speech
• Overcoming nervousness
• Choice of words, and use of humour
• The selling stepping stones
• Use of visual aids during a presentation
• Getting the right audience reaction
• Handling questions and interruptions
• Tone and timing
TRAINING METHOD:
The teaching method is down-to-earth, informal and stimulating. Great care is taken not to embarrass or undermine the confidence of the individual. Closed circuit television is used during part of the course so that people can see their own faults and chart their progress.
Each course member gets practical experience in giving a variety of talks, speeches, and presentations prepared and impromptu. The emphasis is on giving delegates practice on work related topics. Group discussions and assessment of performance are conducted under professional guidance.

The course is run over 1 - 2 days.
