Many business analysts today have become business analysts ‘by accident rather than design’. Their jobs necessitated that they learn how to elicit and document requirements in whatever means they could, as fast as they could, often with little to no formal training or grounding in the core principles of business analysis (BA).
The core focus of the professional business analyst is to elicit and document requirements for new business solutions that usually have a technology base. Those individuals who can play a successful role in translating business needs into information technology (IT)-related specifications are valuable in any organisation.
This course will provide learners with a high-level overview of the fundamentals of business analysis, as well as an understanding of the functions of a business analyst in eliciting and documenting business requirements. It is aligned to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK™), which is the core body of knowledge for business analysts published by the IIBA™ (International Institute of Business Analysis).
