Who should be trained as a coach?
This ourse is meant for practitioners who have to identify and provide structured and targeted skills development opportunities in the workplace, for individuals or small groups.
Once you have completed the course, you will be able to help learners to acquire specific skills in order to do their work, by showing then how to do the work, letting them do it, and observing the result.

Line staff responsible for training in the workplace
HR and HRD practitioners
Teachers, lecturers and trainers.
What entry qualification is needed?
You need to have a qualification at least equal to that of the learners, in the area in which you will be doing coaching.
How long does it take?
Our generic courses runs over two days, during which the learner completes a portfolio of evidence.

What material is supplied?
You will receive a book entitled Coaching Learners, which contains the theory for the course based on the unit standard 117877: Perforn one-on-one training on the job, NQF level 3 with 4 credits. You also receive a portfolio framework to help you complete yout portfolio of evidence.
Workshop outcome
Our course meets all the outcomes required by the unit standard. You will be able to prepare for one-on-one training on the job, conducting sessions, monitor learner's progress and report on it, and review training.
Workshop methodology
You are required to participate fully in group and individual learning activities throughout the workshop. You will be encouraged to identify and express your specific learning needs and to contribute to the pool of knowledge from your own experience. The workshop includes a coaching role play.
Assessment
During the workshop learners will prepare a portfolio of evidence to submit for assessment against the unit standard. As soon as you are found competent, and once the Assessment College has received endorsement from the ETDP SETA, it will issue the necessary certificate. This will prove competence and can be used as evidence for registration with your relevant SETA.
