Course Objective:
To equip delegates with the necessary competence to effectively lead people.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this course the delegate will be able to:
• listen and respond with empathy whilst exercising patience.
• accept that team members have different maturity levels which require different styles of leadership- using to Situational Leadership Model.
• identity motivational factors in the workplace and use this within the team environment.
• effectively coach team members by maintaining their self-esteem whilst clarifying content, agreeing on actions, developing understanding, summarising with review and follow up dates, assessing learning and giving and receiving feedback.
• formulate effective goals for individuals and teams by ensuring goals are specific, measurable, agreed, realistic and time bound.
• make effective and efficient decisions based on sound data collection and planning.
• use problem solving tools by identifying the problem and the cause, setting objectives, thinking logically, brainstorming ideas, and evaluating solutions.
• delegate tasks in an empowering manner whilst building confidence and trust in both parties.
• provide clear and specific instructions.
• manage time effectively by differentiating important tasks from urgent tasks.
• manage the demands of change by understanding that people generally experience four stages as they progress through a change cycle.
• effectively manage conflict situations by using five management conflict styles.
