Outline
This 2 day intervention will be useful to learners, working in all sectors of the economy, community organizations or Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). It will enable learners to get insight into the role of leadership within a work context, and thus providing them with the skills and knowledge to add value to their job.
Module 1: Explain the concept of leadership
- Various definitions of leadership are identified and explained with examples
The roles and qualities of a leader are explained, using examples
Module 2: Differentiate between the concepts of leadership and management
- The concepts of leadership and management are differentiated, using examples
The circumstances when a teamleader manages and leads are explained with examples from the work context
Module 3: Apply leadership techniques to individuals and teams within the work context
- Various theories of leadership are identified according to theory and practise
- The leadership approach of the team is diagnosed according to individual needs and organizational requirement
- Leadership tecniques are implimented in order to improve group dynamics and achieve objects
Module 4: Evaluate the impact of the leadership techniques applied
- The impact of leadership techniques is measured against organizational requirements
- The effectiveness of the techniques is avaluated against theory and practise
Corrective actions are taken, where appropriate, to improve the effectiveness of the individual or team
