PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD This unit standard is intended for individuals who work for a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) merchandising company and are responsible for ensuring stock availability at the wholesaler/retailer on behalf of the manufacturer/supplier. Persons credited with this unit standard will be able to recommend orders where stocks are low and will follow the policies and procedures of the three parties involved in the process to the satisfaction of all concerned. Where the FMCG merchandiser is able to take orders these orders will be executed according to the requirements of all parties involved.
