PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD Learners acquiring this standard will be learning towards obtaining a national qualification or are working within a supervisory or management of fleet vehicles environment, where acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to learner`s job, or chances of finding employment. The qualifying learner is capable of: Understanding and applying the generally accepted appropriate vehicle fleet management principles. Applying knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, technical and maintenance activities etc. conducive to fleet management. Selecting appropriate vehicles and method of acquisition and financing. Executing the fleet management policy of the undertaking.
