Effective Assessing
Being a registered and knowledgeable Assessor is essential in South Africa’s outcomes-based training and development industry. It is an added advantage if accredited facilitators are registered Assessors. This means that the training facilitator understands the assessment and moderation process and is better able to prepare the learner for assessment.
This course gives learners the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for, conduct and review assessments. Learners will also learn how to give appropriate feedback to the candidate.

INDIVIDUAL LEARNING OUTCOMES - ALIGNED TO SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
At the conclusion of this course, learners will be able to:
Explain the importance of outcomes-based learning and assessments!
- Demonstrate an understanding of the assessment process.
- Apply the stages of preparing for the assessment.
- Conduct assessments
- Provide useful and developmental feedback to the candidate.
- Review assessments in order to improve the process.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND METHODOLOGY
- Self-learning with regard to outcomes-based education and training in South Africa
- Participation in class discussions, exercises and role plays
- On course completion of a Portfolio of Evidence
- Submission of post course workplace written assignment where the learner is expected to prepare for and carry out an assessment from start to finish
- The workplace assessment must be observed by the client’s ETDP registered assessor OR a line manager.
ENTRY LEVEL: Strictly Level 4/Grade 12/Matric and Basic computer literacy
Course is conducted in English - Grade 12 level.
